Alwinton is a small hamlet and gateway to Upper Coquetdale, and is situated on the National Cycle Route 68. Surrounded by splendid hills and footpaths to the Penine Way and Scottish Borders, Alwinton is also close to the magnificent coastal castles and the recently opened Duchess of Northumberland's "Alnwick Castle Gardens"

Breakfast & Tea RoomAlwinton hosts the annual Border Shepherds' Show every October. Alwinton Church dates from the 12th century.

Alwinton is the ideal base for walkers and cyclists who want to explore this beautiful and peaceful valley. Follow the old drovers road Clennel Street, passing Iron Age forts on the way up to Windy Gyle and The Border Ridge
